I started my Masters in Acting program in September last year, seeking a space to rekindle my love and passion for the theatre. What I found was far more than a beautiful campus, I found the most wonderful people: incredibly passionate and inspiring talents, and dedicated, committed tutors whose offerings, direction and guidance I will forever cherish.

My passion for art and advocacy shaped the project I created towards the completion of my degree: an investigation into how Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed, combined with Afrocentric Performance Techniques, can offer strategies to resist sociopolitical oppression.

Deep gratitude to my tutors, who have been nothing but exceptional and supportive — especially Rina, my CP Tutor, whose guidance and tremendous dedication helped direct my focus. And heartfelt thanks to my colleagues for their love, warmth and constant support. You have my heart.

I look forward to developing and sharing this work soon as I continue to contribute to the arts and work towards a better future for our nation and the world.
